Art Deco Large Uranium Glass Vase By Karl Palda, c1930

Item Ref

This is without doubt one of our all time favourite Art Deco vases. Originating from Czech republic and made by Karl Palda this vase packs two punches, not only visually with it's very distinctive green / yellow colouring with jet black enamel accents but the pure size of it which stands 29 cm. The glass is extremely thick and therefore the vase itself is deceptively heavy. The shape of the vase is extremely unusual and hard to describe so we'll let the pictures speak for themselves. The most common colour of uranium glass is pale yellowish-green, which in the 1930s led to the nickname "Vaseline glass" based on a perceived resemblance to the appearance (which was a yellow-green colour) of Vaseline brand petroleum jelly as formulated and commercially sold at that time. This vase definitely won't disappoint, we defy the new owner not to fall in love it. Condition is excellent, can't find any damage or flaws to note. FREE delivery for UK customers.
